Co-invested by National Research Foundation (NRF) under the Early Stage Venture Funding Scheme III (ESVF III), SCAngels invests in startups that are synergistic and complementary to YCH’s supply chain and logistic business with the aim of “Nurturing Innovative Disruptors”.

Robert Yap is the Executive Chairman of YCH Group, Singapore’s leading end-to-end supply chain company with operations spanning across Asia Pacific. He has close to four decades of experience in the logistics and supply chain management field.
Robert has been widely recognised for his thought leadership and contribution to the SCM industry. In 2016, Robert was named ‘Businessman of the Year’ for the year 2015 at the prestigious Singapore Business Awards. He was previously conferred the NUS Business School Eminent Business (Senior) Alumni Award in 2014 and the Lifetime Achievement Award (Logistics) by the World Chinese Economic Forum in 2013. Robert is also the recipient of the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2007, and the Asia Logistics Hall of Fame award in 2003.
Robert is currently President of Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF), Deputy Chairman of International Enterprise Singapore (IES), Chairman of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council Singapore, and Singapore Chairman of the Malaysia – Singapore Business Council (MSBC). He also advises various business and strategic committees such as the Singapore National Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation (SINCPEC), the ASEAN SME Advisory Board and the Singapore Management University’s School of Information Systems. Robert also contributes to various local government-related councils which include the Committee on the Future Economy, the National Productivity Council (NPC), the SkillsFuture Council, and Advisory Council on Community Relations in Defence – Employers & Business (ACCORD). Robert is also the Founding Chairman of Supply Chain Asia – a regional community of more than 30,000 supply chain professionals.
Catherine Yap is the Executive Director of YCH Group, a leading integrated end-to-end supply chain management and logistics partner to some of the world’s largest companies. She oversees finance insurance and audit functions, and with 2 decades of multi-dimensional business management and accounting experience in the logistics industry, Catherine brings to the group invaluable depth in enterprise and growth management.
Catherine graduated from the London School of Accountancy and is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (UK). She has also participated in the INSEAD Euro-Asis Center Strategic Management programme, and holds a Certificate in Insurance from the Singapore Insurance Institute.
Marc Dragon is the Deputy CEO of Y3 Technologies, a leading supply chain management information technology and services company. He was a Founding Partner in Antuit, a specialized analytics services firm, responsible for Asia business and operations, as well as leading the Global Supply Chain Analytics Competency. He architected and drove a 100% year-on-year business growth at Antuit, leading to a US$56M investment by Goldman Sachs within 3 years.
Prior to Antuit, Marc also started up a Supply Chain Big Data Analytics firm, Insycn. Marc has also previously led Asia Pacific Analytics and SME Business Units for IBM, as well as led regional IT Strategy and consulting engagements for Deloitte especially for Retailers and Consumer Goods Companies.
James Ong is the Head of Corporate Finance at YCH Group, a leading integrated end-to-end supply chain management and logistics partner to some of the world’s largest companies. He originates and executes cross-border acquisitions, as well as spearheading YCH’s corporate finance initiatives across the group’s real estate assets and supply chain financing solutions. James is also the Investment Manager for Supply Chain Angels, YCH’s Venture Capital investment vehicle.
James has more than 14 years of experience across various fields like private banking, private equity and investment banking in institutions like DBS Bank, OCBC Bank, Oppenheimer Investments and Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services. At Oppenheimer Investments, James was the head of Asia for 5 years and he was instrumental in starting and growing the business for the group in Asia. He has successfully closed M&A and Project Finance deals in excess of US500mn across various industries like healthcare, infrastructure, consumer goods and real estate.
In addition, James also ran a family office which invested in more than 9 investments spanning from healthcare, consumer goods, aged care, engineering, renewable energy and childcare.
Kerry Mok is the CEO of YCH Group with over 21 years of experience in the supply chain management/logistics field and has spent more than 13 years in senior management/board level roles. Prior to joining YCH Group, Kerry held two positions, Acting CEO and COO in Goodpack Limited, a KKR portfolio company.
Kerry’s previous experience also includes Accenture where he held the position of Managing Director, Strategy – Operations and was the head of the ASEAN Supply Chain Strategy practice for the firm. Kerry was appointed as a Member of the Working Group in Aug 2013 covering sectorial transformation as part of the Ministry of Communication and Information’s Infocomm Media Master Plan 2025 initiative. He is currently serving as a Member of the Future Economy Council Trade & Connectivity Sub-Committee.
Kerry holds a First Class Honours Degree in Accountancy from Monash University, Melbourne, Australia.

We believe that the startups should arm themselves with one of the most important weapons that they can have when going into “battle”. SCA will provide the “ammunition” with 3 categories of mentors: Industry, Venture and Management Mentors
Each start-up would be assigned mentors based on relevant of experience and skill sets. Mentors are allocated into three categories, where each start-up would be assigned at least one from each group:
We will be looking to invest at Pre-Series A or Series A with a minimum of S$500,000 and a maximum of S$2 million into a single portfolio company. There is a possible follow on investment at Series B with a limit of S$2 million of total investment.
Yes. Companies must be incorporated in Singapore. If you need help incorporating, please, refer to the ACRA website. Alternatively, you can approach a corporate secretarial firm to help you with incorporation.
It is not necessary to move the whole team to Singapore. However, the core high-value functions such as R&D, product and/or technology development and customization, and C-suite (CEO, CTO, etc) management team must be based in Singapore.
We have an investment committee process which includes analyzing the team’s ability to execute, the product, the business model, as well as the synergies with our supply chain and logistic business.
